The eggs themselves can vary in size from smaller than a Yoshi to bigger than even Bowser. Though the basic white egg with green dots is the most common design throughout the Super Mario franchise, the body and dots can be a variety of colors, depending on either the Yoshi that laid the egg or the egg's contents or properties. Otherwise, an egg may contain items or a Yoshi, either fully grown or in baby form. In several games, particularly the Yoshi's Island series, Yoshis are capable of laying eggs after eating enemies, and they can then use the eggs as throwing projectiles. Yoshi's Eggs, also formatted as Yoshi's eggs, Yoshi Eggs, or Yoshi eggs, are dotted eggs associated with Yoshis, who either lay them or create them through other means, such as by hitting ?
